Entertainment can be never eroded of my TV set until I have a show like “Saturday Night Live” to look forward to. It deserves respect equitant to respect given to a senior citizen as it has been continuing for decades. I can never be starved by famine of entertainment as “Saturday Night Live” has the capacity to make my whole week worth full. Saturday is one day when I do not look for my daily fortune in newspaper, as I know my luck is in my pocket on that day.

“Saturday Night Live” has been a mirror, which has allowed me look at future of many promising acting talents. So many people have debuted in the field of entertainment by playing a part in this wonderful TV series. Anyone who has watched “Saturday Night Live” knows that this show has produced so many gems right from writers, anchors to actors. This sketch comedy series seems to be a large black hole that identifies promising talent and then sucks it into itself. Rather I should say that it sucks audience’s interest from all other shows and forces them to look forward to Saturdays.

My hair have turned from golden to white while watching “Saturday Night Live” television series and I hope it continues till I have hold on my senses. This show seems to me like a little child, which has grown up in front of my eyes. The show has maintained its popularity as if it was one of the wonders of the world, which are non-erasable and priceless parts of ancient times.

As long as there is one Saturday in a week, we will continue to have privilege of watching “Saturday Night Live.” Competitors of this show must be jealous of this invincible and senior pro. The only respite for them is to rename weekdays.

Watching old episodes of “Saturday Night Live” reminds me of my days of youth. Whenever I come across any site that offers to download any of its old episodes, I do not waste any time to download its episodes. This was also one such place and I have used this web site as well to add to my collection of “Saturday Night Live” episodes.

Hey everyone! Well folks, reportedly the skit about Hawaiian natives that featured in a recent episode of Saturday Night Live tv show,has not come out as too funny for Hawaii’s lieutenant governor and some others in the state’s tourism industry. The skit, portraying in an exaggerated manner as to how annoying and frustrating dealing with tourists can be, has been condemned. The skit which is about four-minutes long depicted a pair of irritated locals who have to sing and dance for the visitors of the mainland. Reportedly, the Hawaiian lieutenant governor, James “Duke” Aiona, is worried about the negative impact the skit might have on the state’s biggest industry and to make the creators of the show notice his displeasure, he is also planning to write a letter to the executive producer Lorne Michaels. This is not the first time that Saturday Night Live is in the midst of controversy. During its thirty four year long run, the show that is currently airing the last leg of its Season 34 has faced many such issues where people have found one or the other skit offensive. But then I believe that people should not take these things seriously as they are just a part of fun and entertainment and I am sure the creators do not want to hurt anyone’s feelings.

Saturday Night Live has been one of the longest running shows on the American television. Since its inception in 1975, it has made the careers of many famous comedians and actors and is still continuing with this trend. Last year, the series became renowned for its coverage of the Presidential campaign.  I have been watching Saturday Night Live for the last many years and I have never felt that any of the skits or gags is intended to hurt the sentiments of anybody. As the series is a comedy entertainer, I believe we should let it remain like that instead of creating controversy from the scenes depicted in the skits or the comments made by the hosts or the anchors. That way we are sure to enjoy the entertainment provided by the show to a much greater extent. So go on and enjoy the fun that you only get to see on shows like Saturday Night Live!

Hey people! It has been just a week since Saturday Night Live return from break and already it has made the headlines. Seems the love hate relation between the show and the Alaska Governor Sarah Palin is not going to end really soon. Recently, the former vice presidential candidate stated in an interview with conservative radio talk-show host and filmmaker John Ziegler that she had been exploited by CBS News anchor Katie Couric and comic actress Tina Fey. While Couric had interviewed Sarah at the beginning of her vice-presidential campaign, Tina won the hearts of millions of audiences with her frequent impersonation of Palin on the sketch comedy Saturday Night Live. During the interview Sarah also criticized the news media’s coverage of her and her family.

Tina, who has recently been named the entertainer of the year, has not expressed her ideas on the issue as yet. However, I personally feel that Madam Governor is just making a mountain out of a mole hill. I mean, we all saw and liked Tina on Saturday Night Live and I don’t feel there was anything offensive in her impersonation of Sarah Palin. Besides, a person who is running for a public office needs to keep in mind that he/she has to be ever ready for public scrutiny. So I think Sarah’s criticism of the media is just another means of earning publicity.

Well as for Saturday Night Live, I think it has been through enough ups and downs in the past thirty four seasons of its airing that statements like these hardly make a difference. And whatever Sarah says, I find Tina to be an amazing comedian who has taken the show to new heights of popularity with her comic portrayal of the former running mate of Republican presidential candidate John McCain. Although Ms. Palin’s accusations have really saddened me, but my admiration for actress Tina Fey has really grown. I really expect to see more of this magnificent actress on my favorite comedy and variety show Saturday Night Live!

Hey everyone! Well as most of you might be aware Amy Poehler has officially said goodbye to Saturday Night Live. Amy who had been a part of the show since 2001 bid a tearful farewell to all her colleagues and the audiences in the true Weekend Update style. Amy who has recently given birth to a child is reportedly leaving the sketch comedy to focus on her role in a new sitcom that is to be aired on NBC. Amy has reportedly said that she felt great at being able to do 140 shows with her family and friends. Amy has won the hearts of millions of audiences through her quick wit and comic timings. Earlier this year she had announced that she would be leaving the show when she was due to deliver her baby in October. However, she made a surprise return to the show earlier this month. Although Amy’s farewell remarks were interrupted by a surprise guest, she managed to send her message across to the audience as well as her colleagues that she would miss them. We will also miss you Amy and we will surely pray for your success.

Although this is not the first time that a cast member is leaving Saturday Night Live, somewhere I feel that the void left by Amy on the show cannot be filled easily. Her charming personality and her talent of comedy made her stand out from most of the cast members. She might not be the best but she was definitely one of the better actors on the show. I would not be wrong in saying that the show will not be the same after she leaves. Even though she had taken a break earlier also, the hope of her coming back to the show someday made it less painful. Now that she has officially quit the show for once and for all it is definitely going to take some time to adjust to the new reality. But guys, perhaps that is what life is all about. People come and people go but as somebody aptly said the show must go on!!!
