Hey friends! For those of you who have been watching Saturday night Live tv show regularly, Maya Rudolph does not need an introduction. The wonderful actress who became an integral part of numerous sketches on Saturday Night Live, has enough reason to celebrate. She has recently revealed that she is pregnant with her second child and is quite excited about it. Maya is married to filmmaker Paul Thomas Anderson and the couple already has a 3 year old daughter.

The 36 year old actress was first seen on Saturday Night Live in the 1999-2000 season. Although she was a late addition to the cast in that season, Maya went on to win the hearts of audiences through her wonderful performances, as she portrayed characters like Attorney Glenda Goodwin and Megan.

Maya is also famous for the performance of impressions of celebrities like Oprah Winfrey, Condoleezza Rice, Paris Hilton, Tyra Banks, Diana Ross, Whitney Houston and Donatella Versace, to name a few. Before she went on maternity leave, when she was expecting her first child, Maya appeared in the first episode of the season aired during 2005-2006. She returned from her leave to rejoin the cast of Saturday Night Live in February 2006.

The actress managed to play an unusually wide range of ethnicities on the show mainly due to her ability to change her looks. Her impressive command on many accents also came handy during the portrayal of these characters. Maya, who was well versed in musical talents also sang on Saturday Night Live. Hey everyone! Well folks, reportedly the skit about Hawaiian natives that featured in a recent episode of Saturday Night Live tv show,has not come out as too funny for Hawaii’s lieutenant governor and some others in the state’s tourism industry. The skit, portraying in an exaggerated manner as to how annoying and frustrating dealing with tourists can be, has been condemned. The skit which is about four-minutes long depicted a pair of irritated locals who have to sing and dance for the visitors of the mainland. Reportedly, the Hawaiian lieutenant governor, James “Duke” Aiona, is worried about the negative impact the skit might have on the state’s biggest industry and to make the creators of the show notice his displeasure, he is also planning to write a letter to the executive producer Lorne Michaels. This is not the first time that Saturday Night Live is in the midst of controversy. During its thirty four year long run, the show that is currently airing the last leg of its Season 34 has faced many such issues where people have found one or the other skit offensive. But then I believe that people should not take these things seriously as they are just a part of fun and entertainment and I am sure the creators do not want to hurt anyone’s feelings.

Saturday Night Live has been one of the longest running shows on the American television. Since its inception in 1975, it has made the careers of many famous comedians and actors and is still continuing with this trend. Last year, the series became renowned for its coverage of the Presidential campaign.  I have been watching Saturday Night Live for the last many years and I have never felt that any of the skits or gags is intended to hurt the sentiments of anybody. Hey people! It has been just a week since Saturday Night Live return from break and already it has made the headlines. Seems the love hate relation between the show and the Alaska Governor Sarah Palin is not going to end really soon. Recently, the former vice presidential candidate stated in an interview with conservative radio talk-show host and filmmaker John Ziegler that she had been exploited by CBS News anchor Katie Couric and comic actress Tina Fey. While Couric had interviewed Sarah at the beginning of her vice-presidential campaign, Tina won the hearts of millions of audiences with her frequent impersonation of Palin on the sketch comedy Saturday Night Live. During the interview Sarah also criticized the news media’s coverage of her and her family.

Tina, who has recently been named the entertainer of the year, has not expressed her ideas on the issue as yet. However, I personally feel that Madam Governor is just making a mountain out of a mole hill. I mean, we all saw and liked Tina on Saturday Night Live and I don’t feel there was anything offensive in her impersonation of Sarah Palin. Besides, a person who is running for a public office needs to keep in mind that he/she has to be ever ready for public scrutiny. So I think Sarah’s criticism of the media is just another means of earning publicity.

Well as for Saturday Night Live, I think it has been through enough ups and downs in the past thirty four seasons of its airing that statements like these hardly make a difference. And whatever Sarah says, I find Tina to be an amazing comedian who has taken the show to new heights of popularity with her comic portrayal of the former running mate of Republican presidential candidate John McCain. Although Ms. Palin’s accusations have really saddened me, but my admiration for actress Tina Fey has really grown. I really expect to see more of this magnificent actress on my favorite comedy and variety show Saturday Night Live!

Guys, guess what!! A little birdie just told me who will host Saturday Night Live on 22^nd November. Okay, I will not keep you waiting, but all you young ladies out there just hold your breath. Well, the host for the night will be the popular and dashing country singer Tim McGraw. Isn’t it great, two of my favorites will be coming together for a night of complete entertainment? I am so excited, I can already feel the butterflies flying wild in my stomach.

Saturday Night Live has been and remains one of my favorite shows. I hate to miss even a single episode of the show. The comedy in the show really makes one laugh out loud. In addition the comments passed in the segment Weekend Update are really worth listening to. There is also the musical performance by the guest artist. Overall I feel that the show is a complete entertainment package.

I am really exited about Tim McGraw hosting the show. He has been one of my favorite

singers for many years now. His voice has got perfect quality for country singing. I hope he is also a good comedian. Well guys, don’t let your excitement die till 22^nd of November.
